Can't decide?

We all know it... if there is too much choice we can't choose!     Not long ago I went to a menswear store to buy some socks... Guess what my father got for his birthday. In the menswear store you have 3 different pairs of black socks, anklets etc. in good quality. You don't even need the help of the store clerk to choose. Shopping like this only takes the time the male clerk takes to frap up the socks as a present... Admittedly this does take some time and the result is often less than impressive. (It is not to sound prejudice, but there is something about men, gift wrap and matching ribbons...)   I will readily admit that DPH Trading has a problem here. We have so many different items and if you do not know, what you are looking for, it is difficult to choose!!  New improved seach function Our search function has been improved (hopefully). This should result in making it easier for you to find, what you are looking for, if you know what it is......

Don't waste you vacation doing the dishes!

There are much porcelain dinnerware available at reasonable prices. Thus it also makes sence to start using it on a daily basis, where it can look nice on the table and be used more often. But then the question arises; can I put it in the dishwasher and the microwave oven? Dishwasher How does your porcelain tableware fare in the dishwasher? Dinnerware that is underglazed like the white or blue painted was no trouble going into the dishwasher. That is White Fluted, Blue Fluted, Blue Flower, Empire, Mega, the Hans Christian Andersen service etc. It goes for any dinner wervice with the decoration beneather the glazing. Even newer dinner services with in-glaze decoration like flora can go into the dishwasher. Faience tableware like Blue Edge can go into the dishwasher, too. Christmas plates and mother's day plates from Royal Copenhagen, Bing & Grondahl and Desirée are all underglaze porcelain and can be washed in the dishwasher. So do not be afraid to use your Chr...

3 Good Reasons to Decorate with Plates!

So why should you decorate with plates rather than with regular paintings? This is something that I have thought about as I have both paintings and plates in my home. They both serve well as wall decoration, but they also have different uses in the wall decor. After thinking about it for a while I now have 3 good reasons to decorate with plates for you. Reason 1 - Plates are easy to fit into a spot Do you know the feeling of having a blank spot on a wall, where you miss something, but can't quite fill it out? It is often small and nothing really fits there, but it feels empty when you look at it. With a plate you can fill the spot and no matter how small the spot is, there will be a plate or plaquette that can fill it out and give some life to the spot.  Find decorative plates here! Reason 2 - Plates Are Easy to Group Plates are easy to find in matching colours and are therefore easy to group together. They do not necessarily have the same theme in the group, but i...

Help is at hand! Both Royal Copenhagen and Bing & Grondahl has left clues in their trademarks/factory seals that will help you date your porcelain. Want to learn more about the history of Royal Copenhagen - click here! Or learn more about the history of Bing & Grondahl - click here! So how do you go about it? Underneath your item you can find the factory seal that tells you, which factory made it, but the style can also tell you something about when the piece was produced. Over the years changes where made to the seals, which can help you in your quest to date the item. The seals retain some features through the years like the three waves of Royal Copenhagen and the three towers and the B&G of Bing & Grondahl, but there are changes, which makes it possible to give a mor...
