Did you know that a number of plates with churches have been produced? Both Royal Copenhagen, Bing & Grondahl and other porcelain factories manufactured plates showing churches and cathedrals.

As it is Spring with all the important holidays such plates would do well on the wall or in small memorial arrangements. So what would be more fitting than to show you some of these beautiful plates?

Here You Can See the Many Church Plates and Church Bells!

Church plates from Royal Copenhagen and Bing & Grondahl

You can choose to have the beautiful church plates with many of the most wellknown buildings in Denmark. If you know anyone with a special relationship to a church, then this could be a fun and different idea for them.

It could be about baptism or marriage at the church. The plate could become a nice addition to the memorial wall. Or if you are interested in the architecture of these marvels, then it would be a nice way of decorating your home.

In the time of affirmation of baptism the church plates could be nice reminder of this. For the confirmand the cute confirmand figurine in a long white dress below could also be an option.

Church bells annual bells from Bing & Grondahl

If you are among the more well travelled the church bells (annual bells) from Bing & Grondahl with motifs from many of the great cathedrals of the world might be the right choice. They would also work well for those, who have just returned from a voyage, where they have seen these cathedrals.

Learn to spot the difference between 1st and 2nd quality

I am often asked about the difference between 1st and 2nd quality of Royal Copenhagen and Bing & Grondahl. This has prompted me to write a bit about it. Basically it is about an evaluation of the porcelain made in the factory after production. The finished porcelain was lookes over to see if they live up to the quality demands of the factory. Those that were deemed 2nd quality, where then sold at a lower price than 1st quality. Today only dinner service is sold as 2nd quality in factory sales, but the improved technique for burning the porcelain means that all the yearly cllector's items are sold as 1st quality now. In the past a large part of the production could be of a quality that did not meet the quality demand, which made it necessary to sell it as 2nd quality. However one must remember that the evaluation was made by people, so the evaluation of the porcelain could vary a lot, meaning that there was great difference in when figurines and plates were ju...

Beautiful 2017 Easter eggs from Royal Copenhagen

The time has arrived, when Royal Copenhagen again issues its popular series of porcelain Easter eggs. The older years of the Easter eggs are hard to find and increase markedly in price as a collector's market has been established. Thus I recommend that you buy now, as the Easter eggs from last year, where sold out very quickly. Like in prior years the motifs are beautiful and delightful flowers, butterflies and birds. The style of the motifs are kept in the clear and pure style that brings the thoughts back to botanical and zoological encyclopedias. See all Royal Copenhagen Easter eggs 2017 here! Royal Copenhagen Easter eggs work well set alongside the flowers of spring. On the pictures above you see a setup together with the  Bing & Grondahl Easter plates  that with right in with their spring motifs. The shown plate is  Easter 1917 .
