Learn to Differentiate between 1st and 2nd Quality Porcelain

I am repeatedly asked   how you differentiate between porcelain of 1st and 2nd quality . A large proportion of the porcelain sold through the years is actually marked as 2nd quality. This is the case for both porcelain and ceramics from Royal Copenhagen, Bing & Grondahl, Dahl Jensen and many of the other factories and   it can actually be very difficult to differentiate!   Read how   Royal Copenhagen 2nd quality is marked       Read how   Bing & Grondahl 2nd quality is marked     Coffee and Dinnerware - 2nd Quality There is much 2nd quality tableware on the Danish market. It is often difficult to find the "error", which led to the factory marking it as 2nd quality and thus being sold about 20 % cheaper than the same item in 1st quality.   Today we also sell 2nd quality tableware from Royal Copenhagen, Bing & Grondahl and others with about 20 % discount compared to 1st quality. ...

Gustavsberg not just toilets...

Today I want to present you to a very beautiful series of plates that I have to admit I didn't know existed before unpacking the 140.000 items mentioned earlier.   The plates were produced by Gustavsberg in Sweden and yes most people think about toilets, when hearing the name Gustavsberg, but Gustavsberg is much more than just toilets!!! Gustavsberg plates with endangered species   The series of endangered animals started in 1973 and a new plate was issued every year until 1994. That means a total of 22 different plates with a diameter of 24 cm. (Perfect size for a dinner plate or for dekoration). All motif are drawn by the Swedish artist Poul Hoff.  See the whole series of endangered animals here     Gustavsberg Endangered Species No. 1 Eagle Owl, 24cm Before: 47.3 EUR Now: 20.2 EUR See more Gustavsberg Endangered Species No. 2, hedgehog , 24cm Before: 47.3 EUR Now: 23.72 EUR See more Gustavsberg Endangered ...

I have so much to tell...

Firstly I would like to wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Thank you for all the sweet mails and praise, and not least the many fantastic reviews on Trustpilot.   I would like to apologies for the long silence for the past many months. It is certainly not, because we haven't got any news!   My biggest problem is that I simply don't know were to start! In short we have bought a HUGE stock of collector's items, app. 140.000 items, which we received in six 40' containers around Easter.   We did not know much about what we had actually bought, so for the past 6 months we have been engaged in unpacking, registering and photographing the more than 140.000 items. - It has been like Christmas! Some of the boxes contained amazing and interesting items others more common items. We have expanded our selection with about 3000 new items. Goebel figurines, plates, bells etc. To begin somewhere I have chosen to show you some super sweet plate...
